Community, Celebration, and Health: A Successful Year-End Gathering at JP Bayly Trust: Annual event combines festive joy with vital wellness education for over 180 families.

On Saturday, December 6th, 2025, the JP Bayly Trust Suva Headquarters was filled with laughter, music, and a spirit of giving. Over 180 members and their families from the Trust’s supported communities gathered for a memorable year-end celebration, marking a day of festive joy and impactful health awareness.
The four-hour program was a vibrant mix of entertainment and generosity. The event featured heartfelt performances by students, festive dances, and the distribution of Christmas gifts, prize awards, lunch, food vouchers, and Christmas packs, ensuring every attendee felt the season’s warmth and care.

A pivotal segment of the day was a special wellness presentation. Chief Guest, Dr. Mansfield Lam of DDS Therapy Fiji, delivered an informative talk on “How to Prevent Heart Attack & Stroke Through Better Lifestyle Choices.”

Following the presentation, his team conducted free mini-treatments for neck and shoulder tension, along with blood pressure and body temperature examinations for 42 adult participants.
This health intervention proved critically valuable. The screenings identified more than eight individuals as vulnerable to heart attack or stroke, prompting immediate advice to seek medication and control their blood pressure. Attendees provided overwhelmingly positive feedback, reporting relief from stiff necks and headaches, increased health consciousness, and requests for future diagnostic sessions – a clear testament to the community’s need for such proactive care.

The event powerfully reinforced the principle that “Prevention is always better than cure.”
Congratulations to the JP Bayly Trust for organizing such a holistic and successful community activity. Established in 1954 by the late Mr. JP Bayly, the Trust continues its noble mission of providing education, medical support, and essential food supplies to approximately 400 unfortunate and needy families nationwide.
