DDS Therapy Showcased at Fiji Wellness Coalition Launch on World Stroke Day

In celebration of World Stroke Day, Counterstroke Fiji, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Medical Services, officially launched the Fiji Wellness Coalition (FWC) on Wednesday, 29 October 2025, at the Lower Civic Centre Conference Room in Suva.

The event brought together Civil Society Organisations, NGOs, and wellness advocates from across Fiji to promote a unified, holistic approach to improving national health and reducing non-communicable diseases. The Coalition represents a new chapter in Fiji’s commitment to community-led wellness initiatives.

In her opening remarks, the Ministry’s Acting Chief Medical Advisor, Dr Luisa Cikamatana, described the launch as “a celebration of our shared commitment to nurturing a healthier, more resilient and radiant Fiji.”

The programme included an introduction by Margaret Reade Rounds, Chair of Counterstroke Fiji, followed by addresses from Dr Devina Nand, Head of the National Wellness Centre, and representatives from the Ministry of Health. The formal launch was officiated by the Chief Guest, with closing refreshments and a media Q&A session rounding out the morning.

DDS Therapy’s Contribution

As part of the day’s activities, the DDS Therapy team presented a Wellness Awareness Programme, introducing attendees to a natural, cost-effective approach to chronic pain and disease management. Rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and recognised by the World Health Organization, DDS Therapy has evolved over more than 2,500 years to blend traditional healing with modern bio-electricity techniques.

Also demonstrated how DDS Therapy supported the prevention and management of chronic conditions such as pain, headaches, fatigue, and sleep disorders, while also helping with rehabilitation after stroke or heart attack. Participants learned about how lifestyle choices directly impact long-term wellbeing, reinforcing the Coalition’s emphasis on preventive healthcare.

Attendees were also given the opportunity to experience on-site diagnostic consultations and Trial treatments, which generated a great deal of interest. These brief sessions allowed participants to understand their organ health through TCM-based analysis and receive a hands-on introduction to bio-electricity therapy.

Key Elements of DDS Therapy

The presentation outlined three core pillars of the DDS approach:

  1. Diagnosis and Consultation:Assessing organ function and health using TCM methods.
  2. Treatment: Using bio-electricity therapy, herbal mud therapy to remove cold and dampness, and Alfalfa enzyme drinks for detoxification.
  3. Holistic Support: Incorporating chiropractic techniques, Qigong exercises, and lifestyle education for sustained wellbeing.

A Growing Presence Across Fiji

Over the past five years, DDS Therapy has served more than 6,500 people in Nadi, Lautoka, and Suva, building partnerships with respected organisations such as the Fiji Police Welfare Society, Fijian Teachers Association, and several health insurance providers.
