We were honoured to be invited to speak at the Sofitel’s International Women’s Day celebrations, where we had the opportunity to discuss health, wellbeing, and the profound impact of lifestyle choices on overall health.
Dr. Mansfield took the stage to address a crucial issue: the declining life expectancy in Fiji. He posed an essential question: what is going on? This opened the discussion on how modern lifestyle choices are affecting long-term health and wellness.
The Role of Meridian Channels in Health
One of the key topics covered was the concept of meridian channels, a fundamental aspect of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). These channels are believed to be pathways through which energy, or Qi, flows throughout the body. When these channels become blocked, they can lead to various health symptoms.
Dr. Mansfield explained how, by unblocking these meridians, the body can begin to heal itself. This principle forms the foundation of DDS therapy, which aims to restore balance and enhance the body’s natural ability to recover.
The Connection Between Emotions and Health
Another significant aspect of the talk was the link between emotions and physical health. Dr. Mansfield highlighted how emotions, particularly anger, can negatively impact the liver.
He posed a thought-provoking question: Why would you be angry at someone else and let your body pay the price?
This perspective encourages a more mindful approach to emotional well-being, recognising that holding onto negative emotions can have lasting physical consequences.
A Celebration of Inspiration and Wellness
The International Women’s Day event was filled with inspirational speakers who shared valuable insights on various aspects of life, health, and empowerment.
We are grateful for the chance to share knowledge and engage with such an inspiring audience. Events like these remind us of the importance of holistic health, self-care, and continuous learning.
